- Located 28 miles from Connecticut’s capital city of Hartford, Ashford is five miles from the state’s border with Massachusetts, 66 miles to Boston, 39 miles to Providence and 125 miles to New York City.
- Ashford is bisected by Interstate 84, a major thruway between New York and Boston and points north. I-84 carries close to 50,000 cars per week through Ashford.
- Much of Ashford’s commercial business is located along Routes. 74 and 44. These sites experience more than 10,500 cars a day in traffic counts. Rte. 89 carries 2,500 cars each day.
- Within just eight miles of the University of Connecticut in Storrs and eighteen miles to Eastern Connecticut State University, Ashford benefits from proximity to these highly-regarded secondary schools. In addition, Manchester Community College and Quinnebaug Valley Community College (2 sites) colleges are within a 30-mile drive.
- Ashford is within 50 miles of two major airports: Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks, CT and T.F. Greene south of Providence, RI. Local airfields less than 20 miles away are located in Windham and Ellington.
