Sean Patrick’s Plants Celebrates Milestone

May 5, 2021 by Ashford EDC

Sean Patrick’s Plants is a family retail business that is now celebrating its 20th year of operating in Ashford.

The owners, Brenda and Patrick Stenglein, are graduates of the University of Connecticut. Brenda has a degree in horticulture and education while Patrick has a degree in greenhouse production and management. They are both committed to providing quality plant materials at a fair price while guaranteeing excellent customer service.

Patrick and Brenda enjoy seeking out unique varieties of both favorite plant species and uncommon ones that cannot be found anywhere else in the area. At Sean Patrick’s Plants, they grow an abundance of single variety or combination hanging baskets with slow-release nutrient-enriched soil to ensure colorful season-long enjoyment.

The greenhouse also offers a variety of proven-winner annuals as well as sun-loving and shade-loving plants. Gardeners can also choose from an assortment of perennials that come back year after year.

Over the years, Sean Patrick’s Plants has expanded to offer a larger variety of vegetables, herbs, succulents, and house plants.

It’s not just the greenhouse that has grown in the last 20 years. So too has the Stenglein family, with the addition of the newest family member this spring – their grandson, baby Benny.

“We hope our customers find each visit to Sean Patrick’s plants informative, inspiring, and full of pleasant sights and scents,” said Brenda Stenglein. “We are always eager to share our knowledge and expertise with our family of customers and we hope to see you at Sean Patrick’s soon! Our motto to our customers is: Buy direct from where it’ s grown!”
